BIZARRE goings on in a Lye street have been caught on camera.
A group of people, believed to be Romanian, were filmed picking up piles of metal pipes as they were dumped off the back of a truck in Albert Street.
The footage was uploaded to the Lye and Wollescote Action Group page on Facebook yesterday (Monday August 19) shortly after the strange scenes unfolded at 7.30pm.
It is not clear where the scrap metal pieces had come from and why they were dumped in the middle of the road but the incident is one of many bizarre goings on in the town which residents and traders say is in dire need of a revival of fortunes.
A peaceful gathering is planned in the High Street tonight (Tuesday August 20) at 7pm by residents and traders keen to highlight how desperate they are to stamp out problems involving littering, fly-tipping, crime, rogue landlords and loitering in Lye.
Dudley Council yesterday urged members of the public to report any instances of rubbish being dumped by calling 0300 555 2345.
