Members of Kinver Rotary Club are maintaining their ties with the village’s new Member of Parliament, Gavin Williamson.

Following his first visit to the club to start its 10k run last September and then taking part in the planting of bulbs in Rotary’s Thanks for Life campaign, Gavin recently visited an official meeting of the club as guest speaker. He gave an account of his first 12 months as an MP and pledged to do all he could to assist communities such as Kinver.

Later this month a party of 40 members and their partners will be taking up Gavin’s invitation to visit the Houses of Parliament.

On the Kinver Club’s social side, a comedy evening at the Fox Inn organised by the club’s International Committee raised more than £400 for international charities. President Rtn. Clive Roseblade praised the organising committee under Rtn.

John Gillett and thanked all who had supported the evening.
