We had an excellent meeting in April when David Tideswell from Uttoxeter came along to speak on garden birds in spring and summer.
He showed us aspects of his garden with the best places to site bird boxes and feeders.
The plants and trees which help to attract birds to your garden for food shelter and nesting.
He had slides of the birds that visit his garden and the eggs and chicks in the nests in all a very enjoyable meeting.
The outing to Highgrove on a beautiful sunny day was given top marks by all who went, RHS Wisley is the venue for our next garden visit in July.
Winners of our monthly competition were a vase of flowering shrub, Mary Hidgins and flower of the month Mary Tromans.

Despite early rain, we had a lovely day at our plant extravaganza on May 7.
It attracted quite a good crowd, our members had been very generous in donating plants and books and as usual Jane’s garden was a delight for visitors to stroll around, a very successful venture.
On May 26 at 7.30pm in St Peters Church Hall, we shall have a visit from Kim and Rob Hurst from Knighton on Teme.
Kim runs a nursery which specialises in herbs for kitchen gardens.
Visitors are always welcome for just £1 which includes tea and biscuits.
