Oldswinford Townswomen's Guild
Members were welcomed to the meeting on October 17, by Chairman Pauline Roberts. Members were reminded the minutes of the meeting for September were on the notice board. Treasurer Margaret Fennell reported the state of the finances of the group.
The annual general meeting in March would be the last that the current secretary Joyce Coggins would be reporting. She has been in post for some considerable time now and needs a rest from it.
Members were asked to seriously consider taking over this position and volunteer in March. There was no correspondence to report.
One member, Eileen Manning had reached a milestone birthday and was presented with flowers.
The Christmas meeting in December would be the second Tuesday in the month, not the third as generally happened. The cost of the meal will be £7.50 and there was a list being circulated for members to add their names.
The speaker for the evening was Brian Draper with his walk entitled "Water over my wellies".
The competition for an interesting Scottish souvenir was won by Dorothy Cotton. Raffle prizes were won by Mary Taylor and Maureen Baker.
The next meeting will be on November 21 at Oldswinford Primary School, at 7.30pm. Any ladies thinking of joining would be most welcome.
