RAIN failed to dampen the spirits of children at Thorns Primary School who came up with all manner of imaginative designs for their first-ever pumpkin and scarecrow festival.
Youngsters at the school in Thorns Road brought in homemade creations on Friday October 26 before breaking up for half term.
Downpours prevented the event from being held outside on the field as planned but teachers said the hall provided a suitable alternative and a great time was had by all.
Entrepreneurial year six pupils, keen to raise money for new playground equipment, also organised a cake sale which ran alongside the event.
