THE funeral of former Wollaston councillor June Collins will take place next week.
Mrs Collins, a former Conservative and Liberal Democrat councillor who represented the Wollaston and Stourbridge town ward on Dudley Council, passed away after a long illness on August 23, aged 90.
Political colleagues across the borough rushed to pay tribute to the community stalwart who was described by Lib Dem politician Chris Bramall as "an amazing councillor".
Her funeral service will be held at St James Church, Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, at 1.30pm on Wednesday September 20, followed by a private committal at Stourbridge Crematorium.
Donations, in lieu of flowers, have been requested for Mary Stevens Hospice as Mrs Collins had been a fundraiser for the charity.
