POPULAR Cradley and Wollescote councillor Richard Body has revealed he is prepared to stand for office again after originally being de-selected by the regional Labour Party.
Cllr Body, who has raised thousands of pounds for charity during his 15 years as a local councillor, told the News it was touch and go whether he would be able to continue to represent the party he has been a member of for so long.
He said: "I was so angry and upset at the time after being told I did not hold Labour values.
"I didn't want to continue at the time, but I had the right of appeal and my group and branch urged me to go through with it.
"I had to be re-interviewed by people I didn't even know but as a result I was selected last Friday, with the original decision over-ruled and I will go again - if elected of course.
"I've no issue with the local Labour group in Dudley who have been very supportive."
