I READ with some degree of horror and amazement at your news item concerning the likely destruction of the Clent Hills. May I say that I am totally in support of the local inhabitants of this treasured area of peace and tranquillity.
I am one of the few left who as a small child have walked from Wollescote, Wynall Lane, Wassell Grove or Lutley Lane, Hagley Causeway and the Red Leasowes up to Nimmings and the Four Stones. Can you imagine Hagley Wood Lane being blocked by the crush of 4x4s. I remember the Kinver scout camp and also the visit from Lady Baden Powell. This was in the early 1930, I know not what changes have been wrought at Kinver, but please Mr Ellis, look elsewhere for a more suitable site for the children's adventure activities.
