TWO people write in referring to Cultures United. I do not believe that either P Reece orT Marcus have bothered to check out the website they are praising.

Having read through what was written on the web I sent them an e-mail expressing differing views.

Several days went by without a response so I reminded them of what I considered to be a promise to publish exchanges so that we might share views and reach an understanding.

The following is what it says on the website.......IF YOU HAVE ANY COMMENTS PLEASE E-MAIL THEM TO US ...AND WE WILL POST THEM ON THE SITE......Oh no they say we did not promise.

An added comment at the end of of their screed now says BUT NOT IF IT'S DELIBERATELY PROVOCATIVE.

These are two educated men who surely know that any comment which does not agree with the thoughts of the person to whom it is addressed, will PROVOKE, EXCITE or STIMULATE.

This is the basis of all discussion which is aimed to arrive at an understanding. HOWEVER if you only want to publish the views of those who agree with you to further your own aims, well then all you have to do just print what suits the cause.

From the time I read the four questions concerning the Mosque of little or no importance in settling that major problem, and with very many more important ones not asked, when I read the good doctor's comment that if he and his friend could get on' together why can't we all... I began to wonder.

Two highly trained men doing similar work with similar education working in a special enviroment and of the similar age I am not in the least bit surprised that they get on'.

But the rest of us - a few thousand - have very little in common in most cases..... so why surprise....

One thing is sure - that if certain people persist in trying to pull the wool over our eyes they will make matters worse.

During the last year or so folk from ten different countries have visited my home to stay for a while, four only in the last week.

They come as friends nothing more. Christian, Muslim Hindu, Buddist or without any such beliefs .

What do we have in common? They are honest, friendly, expect only that which they have earned they are not hypocrites and never once have I heard them use the word racist. Some are now members of my family and all are welcome in my home. The good doctors should learn that intigration comes only with trust and trust has to be earned.
