AS a local person from the surrounding area of Clent Hills and Romsley, I oppose the idea of a redevelopment, ie, a pursuit course on Nimmings Wood, the car park end of the Clent Hills, we will lose the car park and an acre of woodland.
The peace and quiet and tranquillity that this place brings to many people now, will be lost. Many people will be encouraged but it will only be for the young, the majority will lose what they've enjoyed for years these will be the elderly and the disabled who have enjoyed the Clent Hills at their own pace.
Conservationists are always bemoaning the fact that peoples activities are eroding the hills, ie, Malvern Hills, Lickey Hills as well as the Clent Hills, to mention but a few, if you had a pursuit course, this would in my opinion advance the erosion faster.
If a pursuit course is needed that much, I suggest that you take your project to Kinver where there are more trees to build it in, or set the above up in one of Birmingham's many parks. Myself as well as many locals do not want this type of activity on any part of the Clent Hills, or for the hills to be used in this manner.
Please leave well alone we like them as they are.
