IN response to Mrs J Daniels letter in the Stourbridge News, March 8 regarding the application to turn the old Barclays Bank into a bar PO6/2241.
The application was refused on the issues of road safety, delivery vehicles loading and unloading in the bus layby, double yellow lines and a marked yellow box area, detrimental to highway safety and the free flow of traffic along the High Street.
In my letter to the council objecting to this application I mentioned these issues but no notice of them was taken. In actual fact a consultation with Traffic and Road Safety states quote There are no highway objections on the development'. Control Committee mentioned these same issues that the application was refused.
I raised a question about this at a recent Area Council meeting and I am awaiting a reply for the Highway Dept. I will let you know the outcome. Mrs Daniels you have my sympathy about the Atlantic House issue. It to me is just another council faux pas.
