IN recent weeks, I’ve read letters of concern about the removal of books from Stourbridge library.

I am a regular user of the library and on my last visit on Friday August 22, I was shocked by the empty shelves.

When I questioned this, the librarian explained that ‘re-organisation’ was so that people didn’t have to bend too low or reach too high.

The empty shelves being mainly the bottom or top rows.

Now I’m wondering, is the council planning to close the library and so save some money?
