CR Brown has once again put his foot firmly in it with the statement, ‘I support fathers’.
He has with a stroke of the pen, branded every woman who has ever divorced or separated from a husband or partner who is an adulterer greedy and manipulative.
But what of the other side of the coin, would you stay with a partner that physically, mentally, verbally or sexually abused you? Some women put up with this for years.
What of the many women that give up a full time career in order to raise children. Married or not, are they then greedy to want the best for their children?
Unmarried mothers don’t have the same rights as a married person. In Mr Brown’s letter, he seems to totally overlook the most important victims of a parental break up, the children. For it is they that are the real losers in the end. Some fathers faced with a break up, become bitter and vindictive. They will try anything to disrupt a childs stable and loving home life, or wish to wage a vendetta aimed at their ex partners. Perhaps in such cases, limited access could be the best solution?
So Mr Brown, I leave you with this thought, let he who is without sin cast the first stone.
