I WRITE to express my sincere thanks to the Stourbridge and Halesowen News (nee County Express) for publishing and promoting my quest to address the ‘red elastic band (REB)’ letter.

Since this media coverage, I have noted a far reduced number of the said REBs on the streets and leye-ways of Wollaston.

Currently, several of my friends and acquaintance have taken up the challenge and have been collecting REBs and handing them to me.

I wonder if any of your other readers would care to assist in this quest, they could be handed to my friend at Home and Hardware, Bridgnorth Road, Wollaston, who could pass them onto me, or indeed most of the good retailers of Wollaston including Webster Fruit & Veg, the Laundrette, Harris Butchers, The Princess, Stourbridge Travel, Bright & Beautiful, the ladies in Stepalong or any of the Delightful Girls in Boots.

I would also like to thank Norman O’Brien for his good wishes and confirm that we enjoyed a delightful vacation on the French Riviera with my ‘mon amiees’.

Peter Robbins
