As Stourbridge Rugby Club members get ready for a crunch vote on the future of the club, here are ten facts about SRFC.
- The club's home ground is Stourton Park which is on Bridgnorth road in Stourbridge.
- They play national league rugby, represented by their first XV in National League 2 west.
- The club is currently bottom of the league after a woeful season where they have gained just 10 points from 18 games having won just one fixture this term.
- Their director of rugby is Neil Mitchell who has held the job since 2004.
- Mitchell is a former police firearms officer and close protection specialist who had been a bodyguard for prime ministers and members of the royal family.
- The historic club was founded in 1876 and moved to Stourton Park in the mid sixties.
- Stourton Park's main pitch is an artificial grass surface which can be used in all weather conditions.
- Their most successful former player is fly-half Huw Davies who made 21 appearences for England between 1981 and 1986.
- The clubs senior amateur team is called Stourbridge Lions who play in Midlands Counties 1 west (north).
- The club has a ladies team called the Panthers and a large mini and junior section.
