STOURBRIDGE must pull out all the stops at Lichfield this Saturday if they hope to obtain Birmingham League status next season.
Following a storming start to the county play-offs with a slender two wicket win over Warwickshire champions Stratford, Stourbridge then finished up on the wrong side of a drawn contest at Shropshire winners Worfield.
The results leave Stourbridge in third place going into the final round of matches with all to play for.
Worcestershire winners Stourbridge made an immediate impact to their play-off campaign when they skittled out Stratford for just 115 runs in front of a sizeable War Memorial Ground crowd.
Nick Pepper provided some lone resistance for Stratford with the bat by scoring 35.
But the remaining Stratford batsmen could do little to break the stranglehold applied by Stourbridge's bowling attack.
Jitesh Jivan Patel with four for 23 and Dan Such who snapped up four for 24 proved almost unplayable while Dan Wale accounted for the remaining wickets to fall with two for 32.
Stourbridge appeared to be cruising to victory in reply as they soon reached 55 for one with the ageless Harshad Patel plundering 28 of that total.
Stratford off spinner James Urquhart with four for 29 off 15 overs together with Josh Colwell who claimed four for 47 then triggered a dramatic collapse as Stourbridge lost five wickets for just 17 runs.
At 93 for eight, Stourbridge were really on the ropes until Jonathan McAll joined Dominic O'Reilly at the wicket.
The pair held their nerve to knock off the required runs, McAll being the mainstay by making an unbeaten 20 not out as Stourbridge scraped home.
Stourbridge then travelled to the outskirts of Bridgnorth on Sunday to face an in-form Worfield side.
The Shropshire League champions had already piled up over 300 runs against Lichfield the previous day and showed no signs of letting up against Stourbridge.
Worfield walloped another huge total of 272 for six from their allotted 50 overs, Tarik Shorey with 53 not out leading the charge.
Stourbridge made a dreadful start in reply by losing Harshad Pastel without a run on the board.
But spirits were lifted when wicketkeeper Maverick Perry joined forces with skipper Josh Banks to share a partnership of 90 for the fourth wicket.
Perry produced top score of 66 while Banks provided 45.
Once the pair were parted, Stourbridge shut up shop to close on 197 for eight.
