THE Olympic spirit which swept so many British riders to gold in China reached the area on Wednesday morning when hundreds of cycling fans turned out to greet the Tour of Britain.
Olympic heroes like Bradley Wiggins and Geraint Thomas swept by during the fourth stage of the eight day tour, which went from Worcester to Stoke-on-Trent during its West Midlands stage.
Cycling fans from across the district packed the roads as the race tore through Bewdley, Kinver and on up to Wolverhampton.
The action came thick and fast as some of the top names in the sport battled it out for glory on the local lanes, thrilling the hundreds of delighted fans who had come out to see their heroes in action.
