MEMBERS of the Charlesworth Family Martial Arts School are celebrating after they returned from a top tournament in the Czech Republic with a clutch of medals.
The Waterfall Lane based centre sent a host of competitors to the ISKA World Sport Kickboxing Championships held in Olomouc and were rewarded for their hard work as they walked away with nine gold, six silver and two bronze medals.
The medals started coming in on the first day with 11-year-old Reuben Charlesworth taking silver after losing a well fought final.
Weston Bogle, aged 12 was next to be successful as he won a bronze and silver.
Picking up the club’s first gold medal was 15-year-old Tara Billingham who followed it up with a silver.
There was double joy for 37-year-old Denise Bryant and 39-year-old Julie Charlesworth who both walked with two gold medals.
Female success for the club did not end there as Nina Das Gupta won a gold and silver.
19-year-old Shaun Bradley then came up with the goods for the men as he claimed a gold and silver medal.
The haul did not end there as Moses Bogle won a bronze in the team event.
There were also creditable performances by Omar Dixon and Ashley Morey who both missed out on a medal.
