Lye Town boss Mark Bache is looking for a triple whammy from his side as they face three more home games in a row before continuing on their FA Vase adventure.

Bache has targeted at least two wins from the home league games last night (Wednesday) against Wolverhampton Casuals, Shawbury United on Saturday (3pm) and Bromyard Town next Tuesday (7.45pm).

Lye are in a mid-table position in the West Midlands Premier after an inconsistent start, albeit with games in hand and players to come back from injury.

They lost their last game 4-0 at home to Bloxwich but then went to Barrow Town in the FA Vase Second Qualifying round on Saturday and won 2-1.

The result booked them a trip in the first round proper to Midland Alliance outfit Westfields but Bache said before then they would be concentrating on bagging plenty of league points.

He said: “This is a hard working squad who play good football and they are capable of being well into the top half of the table but we have stuttered a little recently.

“This run of home games, particularly starting with Casuals, gives us an opportunity to get some wins because we don’t want to get behind on points as well as games.

“The support is there because the spectators appreciate decent football and a good attitude but as a manager I want to see that converted into wins.”

Bache said he was pleased with the win at Barrow, though it could have been a lot more comfortable but all thoughts of the Vase competition were being put to one side for now.

Ash Greenaway was expected to be back for the game last night but Lee Pardoe was suspended and recent signing Lee Booth still injured.
