Stourbridge golfer, Darren Prosser put a difficult couple of months behind him to claim the Staffordshire Open Championship at the first time of asking.
The 39-year-old claimed the title in a nail-biting play-off at Newcastle-Under-Lyme Golf Club.
Prosser shot rounds of 74 and 68 to finish on level on two under with Paul Jenkins and Danny Taylor, but a birdie on the first play-off sealed victory for the Stourbridge Golf Club member.
The victory was a confidence booster for Prosser after he had agonisingly missed out on reaching the second round of the Tour School.
Prosser said: “It was nice to get back to winning ways following a rough couple of months.
“It was my first outing in the Staffs Open so to come away with victory is brilliant and a great way to end the season.”
