Unbeaten so far, they won 3-2 on the tables of Harts Hill Social, thanks to Ashley Sidaway and two of the championship winning team, Maria Catalano and Eliott Bastable.
Bearwood Cons A, who finished in third place in the last two years, won their first match after two defeats, 3-2 at home to Kinver, thanks to Callum Downing who showed great composure to compile a vital 40 break in a deciding frame against Andrew Highfield, last seasons most prolific winner.
Snooks won their first match, their 4-1 victory against Hot Shots A included a 64 break for Richard King against Luke Higginbotham and a handsome win for Aaron Dakin against the consistent Neil Beckley, Greg Kneuss and Lee Page also won with Roy Stokes replying. There was another good result for Pockets, based in Kidderminster like Snooks coming away from Hot shots B 3-2 victors. Gary Smith, Andrew Smith with a 34 and Alex Bowman with a 39 break secured the win.
Baggeridge Social A lead the way in the First Division, their 5-0 success at Brierley Hill SC B means that they have lost only two frames so far. Reanne Evans, Mark Jeffries , Frankie Bennett and Matt and David Whale were the winners.
Amblecote RBL B bought an end to Kingswinford RBL A’s unbeaten start when David Waldron won the decider against Anthony Davies, and Kinver B had their first victory when Mitch Jones, Arnold Tromans with a break of 38 and Ron Smith all won narrowly against netherton Liberals.
Langley Bowling Club are still looking for their first win after slipping 2-3 at Baggeridge B, for whom Trevor Cox won the decider. Kinver Constitutional C lost the opening frame to Amblecote Institute F’s Brian Taylor on the black but Dave Simmonds, Norman Jennings, Rob Jones and Graham Taylor fought back to strengthen their team’s lead at the top of the Second Division.
Also undefeated, Amblecote Institute E edged into second place after easing past Kingswinford RBL B 3-2. Mick Cook and Steve Davies’ fine form continued and there was a win in a rare outing for veteran Sol Willetts.
Dibdale SC clung onto their unbeaten start when Laurence Binfield won the deciding frame against the promising sam Smith of Kingswinford Cons C, and Tom Hamilton, JIm Price and Graham Fellows helped Stourbridge Institute E to a 3-2 win against Brierley Hill SC C.
