Norton Social A eased into the share of the lead at the top of the Premier Division after they overwhelmed Harts Hill Social 5-0.

Ashley Aston, Rob Pitt, Neil Rollinson, Dominic Allen and Graham Tomkins all won decisively, but they owed Pockets SC a debt of gratitude for beating the erstwhile clear leaders, reigning champions, Brierley Hill SCA.

Gavin Smith, with a 47 break, 15 year old Andrew Smith, with a 49 break against his promising 10-year-old opponent Rob Jones, and Ian Barnes secured the 3-2 win for Pockets before Maria Catalano and Eliott Bastable took consolation frames for Brierley Hill.

Snooks did well to come away from Steve James Cue Sporto with a 3-2 win thanks to Dennis Conway. Greg Kneuss and Lee Page, with Steve James and John Rees replying for the home side.

John Sloper won the decider for Amblecote Institute at Bearwood Cons B and Chris Southall did the same for Kinver after Jason Jenns looked likely to clear up for Hot Shots B. jason Oakes made a 51 break for Amblecote RBLA at Hot Shots A, but the home side won the other five frames.

First Division leaders Baggeridge Social A’s impressive start to the season continued when they defeated Wombourne A 4-1. Reanne Evans, Brett Hughes, Mark Jeffries and Frankie Bennett won with Stuart Taylor taking Wombourne’s frame.

Amblecote RBLB have also started well and they remain unbeaten, three points behind Baggeridge, after beating Stourbridge Institute C 4-1. Pete and David Fenemer, Brian Harvey and Darren Waldron won, although Chris Price lost to Paul Bates.

Kingswinford RBL A took all five frames at Amblecote Institute C, a great result to lift them into third place, five points off the top. Greg and David Reece, Anthony Davies, Martin Wilson and Steve Small won five well-contested frames.

Kinver B did well to come away from Kingswinford SC with a 4-1 success thanks to Frank Golding, Ron Smith and Graham and Mitch Jones. Paul Bowen with a 35 break, Andy Barnett and Darren Corbett enabled Netherton Liberals to beat Brandhall Labour 3-2.

Kinver Constitutional C opened up a five point gap at the top of the Second Division when Graham Taylor, Tim Charnock, Norman Jennings and Steve Nicholls combined to win 4-1 at Stourbridge Institute D. Rob Jones lost to Tom Moran but all five frames were very closely fought.
