September saw the Macmillan cancer charity hosting a variety of coffee mornings across the region and one of the first to join up and raise money is the Fitness Factory based in Stourbridge.
In fact, the Fitness Factory is very often involved in raising money for charity.
The gym in Lowndes Road, owned and run by sisters Gemma Calvert and Becky Webster has always encouraged its members to combine fitness with fundraising by asking members to wear it pink for breast cancer awareness, or make and buy cakes for Macmillan cancer. Becky has even run a couple of marathons and half marathons including the London marathon.
They also support Leslie’s Care Packages and Mary Stevens hospice which are local charities and close to the heart of many gym members.
Owner Gemma said “We feel very proud of what we achieve. It’s hard work running a small business, especially with the impact covid had. We are very lucky to have amazing members who continue to support our business and help it grow. So far this year we have raised over £500. Our McMillan coffee morning raised £232.11”
The Fitness Factory is open daily and has a fully equipped gym, as well as fitness studio, running in excess of 30 classes a week and they are always open to hearing about what people want from their fitness journey, often adding in adhoc classes including candlelight yoga, pregnancy fitness and project me Pilates.
The Fitness Factory also runs kids gyms sessions especially aimed at children aged between 8-15 in a supervised and fun environment.
